An appeal has been lodged over a planning application which could allow an unauthorised Bradford bazaar to apply for a markets licence.
Tradex Bazaar began operating at the former Shires Bathroom site in Beckside Road in August last year without permission for retail use.
An application was turned down by Bradford Council planners in May. If the appeal is successful, it will allow owner Mohammed Saeed to apply for the markets licence he requires to operate.
Mr Saeed and his son Khalid, who run Tradex Bazaar, appeared in court last month charged with contravening a stop notice from the Council. They were issued with the notice which ordered them to cease trading by July 9.
The pair believe they are not in breach of the order, saying they do not run an indoor market as it is only open to members and not the wider public.
