A drug addict stabbed his friend in the leg after threatening him with a pogo stick in a row over dividing up their methadone, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.
James Clarkson, 38, of Parratt Row, off Leeds Road, Bradford, pleaded guilty to unlawfully wounding James Whittaker on July 14.
The court heard the men began arguing over how to dish out the heroin substitute. Clarkson threatened Mr Whittaker with a pogo stick, but his friend goaded him, asking: “What are you going to do, bounce all over me?”
Prosecutor Abigail Langford said Clarkson told Mr Whittaker to get out of the house, but he refused. He brandished a kitchen knife and slashed Mr Whittaker across the abdomen and then stabbed him in the leg.
Clarkson was sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, with supervision and a drug rehabilitation requirement.
