A 58-year-old man caught with child pornography on his computer told police: “I thought I’d get a slap on the wrist and be told not to do it again.”

Christopher Brook, of Knoll Park Drive, Baildon , ended up in the dock at Bradford Crown Court yesterday after pleading guilty to having 20 indecent images of children on two computers.

Prosecutor Paul Nicholson said the police discovered the images when they raided Brook’s then address at Cliffe Terrace, Baildon, on June 1.

Nine were at level three and two at level four on the scale of seriousness.

The court heard Brook had inadvertently downloaded the images while accessing legal adult pornography He had substantial health problems.

He was sentenced to a three-year community order with probation service supervision and a 60-day high level activity requirement.

A Sexual Offences Prevention Order without limit of time means that the police can monitor Brook’s internet use and he must sign on with the police as a sex offender for five years.
