Pupils from Thornton Grammar School in Bradford got the chance to experience a day in the life of a soldier in the Army, Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy by taking part in the first ever Armed Forces Exhibition of Careers.
Now hosted by the Royal Air Force, the Royal Navy and the Army, the event had a range of activities including a paintballing range, assault courses and insights into the roles undertaken by the military’s medical, engineering, infantry and logistics regiments.
Bryony Cooke, 14, of Thornton Grammar School said: “It’s been amazing. I never realised the number of careers available in the military – it’s been a real eye-opener.”
The Armed Forces Exhibition of Careers aims to demonstrate to young people the variety of careers in the Armed Services.
