Firefighters are warning people to be extra carfeful when throwing away cigarette ends and matches after a snicket fire in Great Horton.
A crew from Odsal were called to Southmere Road, after a resident saw smoke over a garden fence on Friday at about 7pm.
It turned out to be a smouldering fire caused by a dumped cigarette.
A fire spokesman said: “It’s a reminder to people when it’s been so dry that they must be careful when getting rid of their cigarette ends or matches - there could be consequences.”
