A man found trying car door handles in Manningham, Bradford, was found to be an ‘overstayer’, a person who does not have any legal basis to remain in the UK.
Officers from Manningham and Toller had responded to a call from a member of the public saying that a male was trying door handles in Manningham Lane.
The man was found and arrested for interference with a motor vehicle.
When he was taken into custody it was found that he did not have any legal basis to remain in the UK. Immigration services were alerted and the man has been remanded in custody.
