Part of the grounds at Bradford Royal Infirmary were sealed off today while police carried out a full-scale search following reports of a loud bang near to the maternity unit last night.
Officers are investigating the possibilities of a car backfiring, firework exploding or a firearm being discharged.
Nothing has so far been found and there are no reports of any injuries.
