The full video of the moments a terrified antiques centre owner spreadeagled on the bonnet of a car was driven off at speed by a woman motorist have just emerged.

Simon Webster can be seen desperately trying to cling on as Mandy McGuigan, 42, who staff suspected had been drinking, sped away from Heathcote Antiques in Skipton Road, Cross Hills, near Keighley, in her Peugeot 307.

Mr Webster eventually fell or rolled off the bonnet, suffering injuries including a broken shoulder, in the incident on June 22 last year, Bradford Crown Court head yesterday.

McGuigan, who the court was told had mental health problems, pleaded guilty to maliciously wounding Mr Webster as an alternative offence to intending to cause him grievous bodily harm.

McGuigan had admitted dangerous driving at an earlier hearing at the Crown Court and an interim driving ban was then imposed.

She will be sentenced by Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC on June 22, exactly a year after committing the offences.

The judge said the case had been reviewed with very great care before the Crown took the decision to accept a plea to the lesser offence.

But he warned McGuigan: “The plea in no way diminishes the seriousness of the offence.”

Judge Durham Hall asked the probation service to fully assess McGuigan in the light of a psychiatric report already obtained by her defence lawyers.

He said he was giving no indication of sentence whatsoever and asked for a full victim impact statement from Mr Webster to be available on the sentencing day.

Judge Durham Hall told McGuigan: "You know this is serious, don’t you?” before extending her bail.

Staff at Heathcote Antiques suspected McGuigan had been drinking when she tried to sell them a picture.

Prosecutor Abigail Langford said she smelled of intoxicants and her speech was believed to be slurred.

Miss Langford stressed that, although she had drunk one can of beer, McGuigan, of Tennyson Road, Colne, was not over the legal limit for driving and had never been charged with that offence.

Mr Webster and two other men came out of the shop and Mr Webster stood in front of her car to try to stop her moving off.

McGuigan drove off at speed with him hanging on to the bonnet.
