A parenting centre was yesterday opened at a Bradford primary school in its former caretaker’s house The centre at Farnham Primary School will be used for showing parents how to teach their child to read, how to ensure their house is safe and how to support their child with their education.

The centre has been named The Hub, as chosen by the family of year one pupil Isa Khan, who won a competition to name it.

The Hub was opened by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Naveeda Ikram, yesterday. She was greeted by pupils and given a tour.

A school spokesman said: “The ceremony was attended by parents, children and governors and was a great success.

“The school is hoping to attract funding to enable them to complete the next stage of the refurbishment in the coming months.”
