A county jubilee service at Bradford Cathedral will be by invitation only – due to lack of space.

The celebration to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on Sunday, May 13, at 3pm, will be led by the Archbishop of York, the Most Reverend Dr John Sentamu. He will be preaching and dignitaries from across Yorkshire will be present including The Lord Lieutenant, Vice Lieutenant, High Sheriff, city mayors and representatives of the armed services and emergency services.

The Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral are also inviting all who have received honours from the Queen in the past five years.

Canon Sam Corley, Canon Precentor at the Cathedral, said: “We’re delighted that this service for the whole of Yorkshire is being held in Bradford.

“It will be a very stirring celebration of the Queen's reign, in recognition of her 60 years of outstanding service to our country.”

The music will include Parry’s I was Glad – which was also sung at the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

Due to space limitations, the Cathedral has restricted admission to the service to those formally invited.
