A scarecrow festival will be one of the new attractions at this year’s Burley Summer Festival.
The event will take place from Saturday, August 15, to Saturday, August 25, followed by the annual flower and produce show on August 26.
The festival programme, to be announced in May, is already being filled with events and will feature walks, children’s activities, teas in the park, an opera evening, live music and a craft market.
The scarecrow festival has been initiated by chamber of trade members and organised by Neil Pickles with colleagues from the Red Lion.
A scarecrow trail will appear around the village during the week, with prizes for those who successfully follow the trail.
The Classic Vehicles Show will also return to Burley Cricket Club, on Grange Road, on Sunday August 19.
