Five out of ten jobseekers living in north Bradford have secured jobs after completing an 11-week skills programme supported by social housing providers Incommunities.

All ten participants who attended the ‘Get More from You’ programme run at the Rockwell Community Centre in Thorpe Edge will be at a celebration event.

The training was free and was for long-term unemployed and people looking to get back into the world of work after a job break.

Customer skills, job search guidance and communication skills were all included in the training as well as placements with local employers.

The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Naveeda Ikram, was at the celebration where incommunities chief executive Geraldine Howley presented certificates.

The next programme starts in Shipley. Jobseekers wanting information about future courses should contact Ann Payton on (01274) 257788.
