A 76-year-old woman fed up with not being able to walk unaided hanged herself.

Rakhmat Begum, who was born in Pakistan and lived in Lister Lane, Bradford, with her son and his wife was found at the garage of their home by her daughter-in-law on October 13 last year.

The Bradford inquest heard how two days earlier she had told family how she did not “like to live”.

Mrs Begum who had a history of arthritis and depression had been recently complaining about feeling hot and cold and had been fed up that she could not walk by herself.

She was found when her daughter-in-law, who had last seen her at bedtime the night before, got up to pray and spotted her walking sticks outside next to the garage.

Acting Bradford Coroner Professor Paul Marks recorded a verdict that Mrs Begum had killed herself.
