A spurned woman accused of burgling her former lover’s home as part of a stalking campaign has been cleared by a jury of any wrongdoing.
Diane Barrett, 52, who was too mentally unwell to be tried, sat in the dock at Bradford Crown Court for a hearing to determine if she committed the alleged act.
Yesterday, the jury retired for only a short time before ruling that she did not.
Barrett, of St James Drive, Leeds, was accused of burgling Graham Lloyd’s home at The Hoods, Brighouse, on Christmas Eve, 2010, and stealing the CCTV security system video tape.
She was said to have obtained an image of Mr Lloyd’s new girlfriend from a digital camera and sent it to the couple’s families.
Barrett took no active part in the trial and walked free from the court afterwards.
