A range of activities and special offers are available at Bradford Council-run sports centres and swimming pools during the Easter holidays.

The full programme of activities for young people will run across the district between Monday, April 2 and Sunday, April 15.

More than 20 mid-week playschemes, open to youngsters aged five years and above, will also be on offer throughout the district. These will offer bouncy castles, mazes and karaoke discos, as well as organising games, sports coaching and drama and craft workshops. Young people wanting more of a challenge can sign up for four-day camps in B.A.S.E. (b active sport and exercise) and Icon dance gymnastics at Nab Wood Sports Centre starting on Monday. In addition young people up to 15 can sign up for a special membership deal at the Leisure Centre, in Keighley, giving access to all activities at the venue from tomorrow to Sunday, April 15. These include street dance and mini Olympics.

Families can also try out a special swimming offer during the entire half-term break. Children will be able to swim for £1 each, and adults £2 each at off-peak times.

Under 16s can also keep fit at special junior gyms, which can be found at T-Zone fitness suites in Thornton Recreation Centre, Richard Dunn Sport Centre and the Shokk Gym at the Leisure Centre, in Keighley.

Phil Barker, the Council’s assistant director for sport and leisure services, said: “The wide range of activities at sports centres this Easter will help to keep children and young people active, healthy, and entertained.”
