A poignant show is paying tribute to those who lost their lives when the Titanic met its fate that April night a century ago.
To commemorate the centenary of the sinking, Halifax Amateur Operatic Society is re-staging its production of Titanic – The Musical, and the cast of more than 100 includes Bradford performers.
Opening exactly 100 years after the famous ship departed from Southampton Docks, the production tells the stories of real-life characters onboard RMS Titanic’s maiden voyage, recalling their hopes, loves and dreams as they set off for New York, unaware of the tragedy that awaited.
The final performance, on April 14, will begin at 11.40pm, the time the ‘unsinkable’ ship collided with the iceberg that was to seal its tragic fate.
Titanic – The Musical runs at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, from April 10 to April 14. For tickets, ring (01422) 351158.
