A young mother who repeatedly stabbed her former partner with a potato knife after he made a “mean and spiteful” comment has been sentenced to a 12-month community order.
Jessica Ludbrook, 20, struck out in a heated argument with Bradley Smith after picking up the knife to harm herself, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.
Ludbrook, of Manley Street, Brighouse, admitted causing Mr Smith actual bodily harm in a friend’s flat. The court heard he suffered slight puncture wounds, not needing medical attention, when he was stabbed three times in the shoulder.
Ludbrook was of good character and the relationship was now over, the court heard.
The judge, Recorder Dean Kershaw, said she had pleaded guilty and was upset and remorseful.
