Sky Sports rugby league commentator Brian Carney visited Thornton Grammar School to pass on some reporting tips to pupils taking part in a programme aimed at improving their English skills.
The year nine boys have been producing match reports after attending Bradford Bulls games and press conferences.
Mr Carney, a former rugby player, took part in a question and answer session with the group and spoke about how he became a sports presenter.
Assistant headteacher Andy Halliley said: “It was inspiring for the boys to hear a professional sportsman talking about how important language skills are.”
