A town will launch its first no cold calling zones next week.
The first areas in Otley to benefit from the new designation, which bans uninvited doorstep traders, will be Station Road, The Whartons and the Wrenbeck estate.
From Monday, March 26, businesses who send cold callers into any of those areas will risk being reported to, and being reprimanded by, West Yorkshire Trading Standards.
Otley Neighbourhood Watch, which is being supported by £3,000 of Otley Town Council funding, will hold a launch event at Chevin Court at 2pm on the day, when the first no cold calling zone sign will go up in Station Road at 3pm.
The group, which will be joined by councillors, trading standards and police representatives for the launch, are hoping as many watch co-ordinators as possible will attend to show their support.
