Firefighters managed to prevent a fire in a lean-to timber shed from spreading to an empty shop in Bradford last night.
Crews from Fairweather Green and Bradford were called to Back Blythe Avenue, off Thornton Road, Girlington, at about 9.15pm where they spent about three hours tackling a fire at a large shed filled with wood.
Crew commander Ian Hales, of Fairweather Green fire station, said the blaze was believed to have been started deliberately.
He said: “The crews have done a good job to stop it from spreading into the rear of an empty shop in Thornton Road.”
