A 24-year-old man is due to appear before magistrates in Bradford tomorrow charged with the murder of a man who died in a street attack in Keighley.

The dead man, who had suffered extensive head injuries, was today named by police as Jason Seed, 44, of Upper Rushton Road, Fagley.

He was pronounced dead in Guardhouse Avenue, Braithwaite on Wednesday morning shortly after the incident.

A post mortem examination confirmed he died of head injuries, police said yesterday.

Four other men - aged 33, 45 and two 50-year-olds - who were arrested in connection with the incident have since been released on police bail.

Residents living nearby have told how young children witnessed some of the incident and a woman neighbour tried to save Mr Seed as he lay dying in a pool of blood.

The bottom end of Grant Street near to the Welcome Inn was cordoned off by police later on Wednesday.

Mr Seed was understood to have been identified by his fingerprints.

Police were called to Guard House Avenue, shortly after 10.40am. Anyone with information about the incident should call Detective Chief Inspector Simon Atkinson, of West Yorkshire’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, on 101.
