Customers at a Shipley opticians have donated hundreds of items to help replenish stocks at the Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank.
Shipley Specsavers, in Market Square, appealed for donations of non-perishable food items. Volunteers from charities and organisations supported by the Food Bank have delivered the gifts to homeless people and deprived families across the Bradford district.
Bhrat Phakey, store director at Shipley Specsavers, said: “We are delighted by the response to our appeal from customers. The Food Bank does a fantastic job to support vulnerable people across the district.”
Helen Bradshaw, secretary of Bradford Food Bank, said: “It is very exciting to have the support of Shipley Specsavers, which makes such a difference at this time of year. The food collected is invaluable to those we are able to help.”
