Roleystone Horse Sanctuary is appealing for people to travel a mile to raise money for animal charities.
The event, A Mile For Their Lives, will take place on Sunday, March 18.
“It is for small animal charities which depend on public funding to survive,” said Joanne Metcalfe, of Roleystone in Wrose. We are asking people to cover a mile in any way possible – walk, run, swim, skate or cycle – and get sponsored for it.
“We are asking for ‘Facebookers’ in the area to vote for us and give as much support as they can by joining in the event, or even just donating their sponsorship to the sanctuary. People are asked to vote for their favourite causes out of 16 nominations and the top 10 will receive the cash raised, split equally.”
You can vote for Roleystone on Facebook page A Mile For Their Lives. For sponsor forms, visit roleystonesanctuary.org.uk.
