Places are still available on a teaching assistant course starting in the district on Monday.
The free level 2 course is one of several New Year activities at the Kingfisher Community Centre in Braithwaite Avenue, Keighley. The course is funded by Craven College and is open to people receiving to Jobseekers Allowance, Working Tax Credit or Family Tax Credit.
The Kingfisher Centre, which is in the same complex as Merlin Top and Phoenix primary schools, is also starting Tuesday coffee mornings from 8.45am to 9.30pm.
Neighbourhood development worker Tracey Shorten said the sessions were particularly aimed at people who had dropped their children off at school.
She said: “This is a trial to see if it takes off, free in the first instance then maybe a small contribution towards a light snack.”
Coming soon will be cook and eat sessions with funding from Bradford Council’s Keighley Area Committee.
Parent and toddler group are continuing on Wednesdays from 9am to 11am, with support from the nearby Rainbow Children’s Centre.
Also continuing are women-only zumba sessions on Fridays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, costing £4, and sessions with housing advice service Keyhouse on alternate Tuesdays.
For more details on all the activities, call Mrs Shorten on (01535) 665935.
