Young performers in Bradford are being urged to try out for auditions for the National Youth Theatre.

The deadline for applications is on Saturday for 14 to 21-year-olds hoping to follow in the footsteps of an illustrious alumni that includes Daniel Craig, Orlando Bloom and David Walliams.

Acting auditions and technical interviews will be held at Bradford’s Alhambra theatre and successful applications will join the youth theatre company, which is this year putting on performances for the 2012 Olympic welcome ceremonies.

Kamal Hussein from Bradford, a former NYT member, said: “I did my NYT summer course after I saw it advertised at my school, Dixon’s Academy. It was the most thrilling two weeks of intensive theatre-making, learning and forging friendships with people from all over the UK.”
