A musical written by 50 Skipton primary school children has made its public debut.
Skipton the Musical was premiered at Skipton Girls’ High School to an audience of parents and music lovers.
The scheme was funded by North Yorkshire Music Action Zone and brought to life Skipton’s heritage with a set of songs that told of the town’s colourful history.
The children were helped by Skipton Camerata’s musical director Ben Crick, renowned poet Ian McMillan and local historian Malcolm Hanson.
“Everyone involved was impressed by the young people’s creativity, commitment and enthusiasm,” said Mr Crick.
