Bradford’s version of iconic property game Monopoly hits the shops today.

The Alhambra takes pride of place on the Mayfair square of the board and the Telegraph & Argus will be part of the red set, taking the London board’s Fleet Street square.

After suggestions were made by Bradford residents, spaces have also been allocated to Bradford supermarket giant Morrisons, the Bronte Parsonage Museum and the Bradford City and Bulls grounds.

Taking the station spots are Bradford Interchange, Forster Square, Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and Leeds-Bradford Airport.

The National Media Museum, where the game was being launched, holds the green square taken by Oxford Street on the London board.

Colin Philpott, director of the National Media Museum, said: “We are delighted to be featured as a leading site and to be hosting the official launch of this new board.

“The board really highlights the quality and diversity of Bradford district’s attractions and it is fantastic that the museum is included as one of the locations.

“Of course, although the actual museum is free to enter I won’t mind charging anyone who lands on our space when I’m playing the game.”

The board was due to be officially unveiled by Mark Hauser, licensing director of the game’s maker Winning Moves UK, and representatives of the Destination Bradford tourism partnership.

Mr Hauser said: “We would like to formally thank the great and greater Bradford public for all its wonderful input. Without these suggestions this board could not have been produced.”
