A talented cast of more than 200 youngsters are sprinkling magic dust over the Alhambra stage this week, in a spectacular production of Beauty and the Beast.
With sumptuous sets, stunning costumes, top-quality choreography and fabulous performances, Stage 84’s feelgood family show is an enchanting interpretation of every little girl’s favourite fairytale.
The story of a young prince transformed into a beast and cursed to live alone in his castle until the spell is broken by true love is brought to life in a delightful world populated by a collection of charming characters.
The breathtaking costumes and spectacular sets wouldn’t look out of place on the West End stage, the toe-tapping song and dance numbers are a delight and, thanks to Craig Winward’s direction, the action races along.
There are strong performances all round, especially from Lucy Annable as Beauty and Thomas Ramsay as the Beast who undergoes a touching transformation to handsome prince, in this hugely entertaining showcase of young talent that should make Bradford very proud.
The family show runs until tomorrow.
