Bradford City stars Michael Flynn and Craig Fagan and deputy leader of Bradford Council Imran Hussain toasted the beginning of Alcohol Awareness Week with pints of orange juice and called for fans to take it easy when it comes to booze.
Alcohol Awareness Week, which starts on Monday, is being held across the Bradford district to reduce alcohol-related crime and harm.
Next week agencies in the Bradford Community Safety Partnership will join forces to highlight the dangers caused by alcohol and the work that goes on all year round to tackle problems caused by irresponsible drinking.
Michael Flynn, Bradford City captain, said: “There’s nothing wrong with having a few pints with friends or enjoying a glass of wine with a meal. My message to fans is simple: enjoy a drink but take it easy and never drink and drive.”
Coun Hussain said: “I’m delighted to see that Bradford City is backing Alcohol Awareness Week.”
