After six years at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, chief executive Miles Scott is leaving to take up the helm of St George’s Healthcare Trust in London.

St George’s is the principal academic and specialist centre for South West London and Surrey, and Mr Scott is expected to take up his new post in January.

He said: “My six years in Bradford has been extremely rewarding. I am very proud of what the staff at our hospitals have achieved in that time.

“Bradford Teaching Hospitals is widely recognised for excellence in patient care, teaching and research. I wish the organisation every success for the future.”

From November 1, director of finance, Bryan Millar, will become Bradford Teaching Hospitals’ acting chief executive for the remainder of the financial year while a successor is being sought.

Chairman David Richardson said: “There have been many positive changes at Bradford Teaching Hospitals since Miles joined us in 2005 and the Foundation Trust is now in a strong position to continue to deliver high-quality and safe care for all our patients.

“Bryan’s appointment as acting chief executive in the interim will give the organisation, our staff and patients the continuity, stability and leadership required to ensure we can continue to deliver an effective service.”
