Retired super sleuth Thomas Gledhill is backing a police warning about con letters from China.
The 83-year-old former policeman, of Tong Street, Bradford, got in touch with the Telegraph & Argus in June to first put out the warning.
He received a bogus letter from a Chinese banker wanting to split an unclaimed $8 million inheritance with him – but he was not fooled and wanted to tip off others. Now West Yorkshire police officers are investigating the letters and have put out a warning of their own as more of the letters are received in the region.
