Bradford Council has joined a region-wide campaign to boost standards of care for vulnerable children and raise the profile of social workers.
A record number of cases are being handled by children’s social workers across the country, with a total of 29,941 youngsters having received support in West Yorkshire over the last year.
There are 3,000 active cases of families being supported by the Council’s social work teams, a spokesman said.
A first-time campaign called Children’s Social Work Matters, which unites all 15 Councils across Yorkshire and the Humber, aims to attract new social workers to the region and raise industry standards for people already in the job.
