The dragon boat team
A team of kayaking enthusiasts have pledged to bring dragon boat racing to Bradford after becoming national champions.
The group, made up of six staff from Doe Park Water Activities Centre in Denholme and five teachers at Appleton Academy, Wyke, also became the first Yorkshire team to triumph at the British Dragon Boat National Finals.
As well as train for next year’s competition, the team now plans to offer dragon boat racing to children and the public at Doe Park.
