A soldier and his friend have each been jailed for five years for a savage attack.
Ashley Whitehead and Lee Newsham were caught on CCTV cameras assaulting Richard Veazey after a night’s drinking.
Mr Veazey, 19, of Silsden, suffered a depressed skull fracture and fragmented right eye socket in the Leeds Station attack.
Whitehead, 21, of Nab Wood Rise, Shipley, and Newsham, 21, of Mayfield Drive, Keighley, pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
Prosecutor Michael Greenhalgh told Leeds Crown Court yesterday Whitehead grabbed Mr Veazey and threw him to the ground. He kicked him four times and Newsham ran up and booted him in the head.
Mr Veazey spent two nights at Leeds General Infirmary before returning to the hospital on July 4 for an operation.
DI Mellish thanked the public for their help after the CCTV images were circulated.
