Detectives are hunting armed raiders who struck at a jewellers in Otley today.
They smashed the window of S Manning Jewellers in New Market Street shortly after 11.30am and made off with jewellery and watches. The pair made away in a dark-coloured people carrier being driven by a third man.
Manager Steve Perry, who was inside the shop at the time of the raid, said: “A car parked up, two guys jumped out with balaclavas and sledge hammers and put the window through and grabbed stock from the front window.
“I was shocked but things happen. It’s a way of life unfortunately.”
