Teenager Paul Smith is pirouetting his way to success after landing his first role in a major ballet and a place at a prestigious academy.
The 17-year-old, of Oakworth, is appearing in Northern Ballet’s production of Giselle at Leeds Grand Theatre this week.
He started dancing aged eight, at DM Academy in Shipley, and went on to train at Northern Ballet’s academy for young dancers.
In October, Paul will take up a place at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where he will do a degree in modern ballet.
“He has worked so hard,” said his mum Carole.
