Officers investigating the murder of a Streatham man in Kensington are due to appeal for witnesses at the scene.

Randy Osei-Boateng, 27, of Leigham Avenue, Streatham, was shot in the chest at Lakeside Road, West Kensington, while sitting in the driver's seat of a parked car, on Monday (May 9).

Police were called at about 4.10pm to reports of a shooting - officers and the air ambulance attended, but Mr Osei-Boateng was confirmed dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination held at Fulham Mortuary yesterday (May 10) gave cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police believe he was shot by a lone gunman, but are keeping an open mind regarding the motive.

Officers from Trident and the Addison Safer Neighbourhoods team will be speaking to the community and handing out leaflets in a bid to trace anyone with information who has not already spoken to police.

An incident room has opened under Detective Inspector Mark Gower from Trident.

DI Gower said: "This incident happened at a busy time of the day just off the Shepherds Bush Road and there would have been lots of people in the area at the time.

"There will be people who witnessed what has happened and we urge you to come forward if you have any information. Trident understand and support the community and will work closely with witnesses who may have concerns about coming forward."

A 19-year-old man was arrested on Monday (May 9) in connection with the murder and taken to a west London police station.

Later on the same evening a 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to a west London police station.

Both were later bailed to return in late June pending further inquiries.
