Youths on an estate are being warned lives are at risk if they play with fire.
It comes after a wheelie bin was propped up against the door of a house in Thorpe Edge and set alight.
Firefighters from Idle were called to the house in Old Park Road by neighbours at 2am yesterday.
Flames spread from the bin, destroying the door frame and door and smoke logging the hallway of the house that was empty.
The other properties were not damaged but Sally Dickens, watch manager at the fire station, said: “Whoever did this needs to be aware of the consequences."
