Work is to start next month on an £88,000 scheme to improve gas mains in a village.
Ageing metal pipes in Glusburn will be replaced with a durable plastic version.
The upgrade – due to start on April 11 and last seven weeks – will take place in Colne Road, Mayfield Close, Ryecroft Way, Sunny Bank Road and Townend Place.
The mains will be connected to the gas network via small excavations on Black Abbey Lane and Bungalow Road.
Tony Thompson, area operations manager with pipeline owner Northern Gas Networks, said: “We have worked very closely with the Council to plan this project and want to get in and out as quickly and safely as possible.”
