Proposals for a waste treatment plant prompted a huge turnout at a forum.
More than 100 people crammed into Silsden Town Hall.
Councillor Adrian Naylor said some were turned away because there was insufficient space.
He said: “The major concern from people was that they still don’t have details about what exactly is being proposed.”
The land, between Keighley Road and Belton Road, has been shortlisted for possible development in the waste management plans of Bradford Council.
The existing proposals are now the subject of public consultation, due to end on Friday, April 1.
