A 94-year-old woman suffered head injuries when intruders broke into her Bradford home last night.
Officers were called to the house in Shakespeare Close, Barkerend, shortly after 10.30pm.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the woman was taken to hospital and was in a stable condition.
The spokesman said: "A forensic examination is taking place at the scene and officers are speaking to residents and carrying out house-to-house inquiries. Neighbourhood Policing Team officers are also out and about in the area.
"Officers will be speaking further to the victim."
