Creative pupils have been taken under the wing of London’s first female tailor.
Buttershaw Business & Enterprise College, in Bradford, welcomed back former pupil Imtaz Khaliq, formerly of Little Horton, who has gone on to become an award-winning bespoke tailor in Saville Row.
She was invited to initiate the first cohort of pupils into an inter-school Design Academy.
She said: “I think young people need role models who have become successful who are originally from Bradford. It shows that success is accessible for them.”
Pupils who excel in the design work have signed up so that they get special support to harness their talents.
