Aussie fans are intoxicated by their team's performance

A much better day for England today and their loyal supporters. All looked ominous as lunch approached with Australia progressing well without losing a wicket.

Then just before lunch the Barmy Army were brought to life with the dismissal of Watson. There was much discussion over lunch (liquid for the Barmies) about how to get rid of Ponting.

Luckily they didn't have to wait long as he was dismissed straight away. There then followed the best session of play for England with Anderson and Finn in the wickets and England were on top, as were the barmies who broke into a fine rendition of "You're not singing any more" to the Aussies.

At tea England were still ahead - just and we witnessed a number of Aussies being removed from the ground due to "suspected intoxication."

There was nothing suspected about it from what I could see! The Barmies couldn't understand it as one said "It's only mid strength beer they're not allowed to sell full strength stuff!" I can see why.

After tea the sun was still shining temperatures up into the 30s and Hussey made great use of the conditions putting the Aussies just back on top. then came the rain which to be honest was a great way of cooling us all down.

All to play for on day 3 and the forecast is good 27 degrees (sorry to hear about the snow there -not!)
