A Christmas tree dedicated to the memory of lost loved ones has been planted in Ilkley.
Installed by Marie Curie Cancer Care Ilkley support group, the memorial will be the focus for a new ‘lights to remember’ event on The Grove on Saturday, December 4.
Families and friends are being invited to place messages under the tree, which has been donated by Stephen Smith’s garden centre in Otley and will be decorated with the help of Opulent Designs and Mortens, of Ilkley.
The group’s treasurer Barbara Mann said: “We hope that the placing of this tree of remembrance will provide a focal point for families in the area who wish to remember loved ones at this special time of year.”
Tags for tributes will be available at the event between 4pm and 5pm or in advance from the Ilkley Gazette office on Wells Road.
