A businessman raped a teenage girl at least 20 times in the flat above his fast- food restaurant, a Court heard.

Mohammed Nawaz, 57, is accused of a catalogue of sexual abuse against the girl when she was aged 12 to 15.

He is also alleged to have indecently assaulted a second girl when she was aged 11 to 13.

Nawaz, of Flockton Road, East Bowling, Bradford, denies 14 sexual offences, dating from 2003 to 2007.

The allegations include six charges of rape, three charges of indecent assault, three of assault and two of sexually assaulting a child.

Prosecutor Tahir Khan told a jury at Bradford Crown Court the two alleged victims were now in their late teens.

He said Nawaz began sexually abusing the first girl at his home when she was 12.

Mr Khan said she started a paper round when she was 13 and Nawaz followed her in his car. It is alleged he made her get into the vehicle and sexually abused her, buying her silence with money and cigarettes.

The girl claims this happened up to five times a week.

Mr Khan said Nawaz raped her in a flat above the Shalamar takeaway in Stanningley.

The jury heard Nawaz first raped the girl in his car and then began taking her to the flat.

Mr Khan said he insisted she went with him to his takeaway business where he allegedly raped her.

The teenager told the police this happened at least 20 times.

She said she was afraid of Nawaz and felt it was her fault.

Mr Khan said Nawaz kept the girl quiet with psychological pressure.

“She was just a child, he was a middle-aged man of the world,” he told the jury.

Mr Khan alleged Nawaz touched the second girl indecently at her home.

He said the allegations came to light when the first girl got drunk and shouted at Nawaz that he was a rapist.

Nawaz was arrested in April last year and denied the offences.

Mr Khan said he told the police the girls were “telling a pack of lies”.

The trial continues.
