It was a weekend of fun and festivity as thousands of people flocked to the streets of Saltaire for the finale of the UNESCO World Heritage Site’s ten-day festival and hundreds more enjoyed a feast of music at the Otley Music Festival.

Organisers of the Saltaire event said they expected up to 40,000 people had visited the village on Saturday and Sunday as the annual Saltaire Festival came to a close.

Crowds lined the streets to witness a range of free entertainment and sample some of the finest European cuisine at the continental market.

A varied array of musical tastes were catered for at the Piazza Stage, off Caroline Street, as bands including the Hall Brothers Big Band, Wang Dang Doodle and the Cajun Aces entertained the crowds.

Festival committee chairman Ros Garside said: “It went really well.

“We have had very good attendances at all the events we have run – there’s been loads of people out and about today, as you would expect for the final weekend.

“There’s been lots of great music and lots of great events for people to go to.

“I think the highlight is just seeing so many people out and about enjoying themselves.
