Residents of Ilkley are being invited to take the first steps in a drive to transform the town into an environmentally-friendly community.
Transition Ilkley, formed in July this year, is inviting the wider community to get involved in an initiative to tackle predicted challenges of the years to come, ranging from the exhaustion of natural resources to economic fallout.
Members of the group have been looking to examples set by other towns, where the community has got together to bring about green energy schemes and local trading initiatives.
The group now plans to put ideas to more local people – and hear the suggestions and concerns of other residents – in a meeting at the Ilkley Moor Vaults, Stockeld Road, on Thursday, September 30, at 7.45pm.
“Everyone who is interested in the future of the local area is welcome to join us,” said the group.
