Two brothers accused of hurling chunks of a collapsed wall at a man’s head in a feud between two families, have been cleared of all charges against them.

Bradford Youth Offending Team worker Naveed Zeb, 33, and his brother Bilaal, 25, both of Woodview Terrace, Manningham, had both pleaded not guilty to wounding Israr Zahir with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm on February 11 last year.

Naveed Zeb also denied dangerous driving in a pick-up truck and damaging a garden wall and two cars.

The jury at Bradford Crown Court had heard there had been ongoing problems between the Zeb and Zahir families for a decade, stemming from a dispute on Manningham Lane and an incident at a funeral.

Bilaal Zeb had told the court he believed his car had been set on fire by Mr Zahir on the morning of February 11, 2009.

Mr Zahir drove at him at speed later that day, Bilaal Zeb told the jury.

The prosecution alleged Naveed Zeb had pursued Mr Zahir to Oak Villas in a pick-up truck, with his brother in the passenger seat, before the vehicle crashed through a wall.

Prosecutor Ben Crosland said the brothers then beat and kicked Mr Zahir and threw debris from the wall at his head.

The jury unanimously agreed both brothers were not guilty of all charges, after a five-day trial.

During the trial Bilaal Zeb told the jury he had been driving the truck and had driven straight home after hitting the wall, and did not attack Mr Zahir.

Naveed Zeb said he had not had any part in the incident and said his accuser held a grudge against him because of his work with young offenders.

He said he had been at home watching television with his father when the incident was alleged to have taken place.
