A 28-year-old man has been cleared of murdering a Thai brothel keeper.

A jury at Bradford Crown Court unanimously acquitted Syed Bukhari, of Ringwood Road, Canterbury, Bradford, of murdering Tinakorn Tuekpia at his home in Little Horton Lane, Bradford, on August 17 last year.

The jury failed to reach a verdict on a charge of conspiracy to rob Mr Tuekpia. The panel was discharged by Judge Scott Wolstenholme yesterday.

Bukhari was remanded back into custody for a retrial date to be set.

During the trial, the court heard that Mr Tuekpia and his pregnant girlfriend were running a brothel at their home.

The former chef was killed by a single stab wound to the chest when a gang of masked robbers burst into his house at 1am.

Bukhari told the jury he was not a member of the robbery gang.

Subhan Khan, 21, of Tern Street, Canterbury, Bradford; Israr Hussain, 28, of Grantham Road, Little Horton, Bradford, and a teenager, who was 17 at the time, have pleaded guilty to manslaughter and conspiracy to rob.
