Over at St George’s Hall, a cast of youngsters is preparing to put on its Summer Showcase.

The show, staged by Saturday morning performing arts school Theatretrain on Saturday, July 3, at 7pm, celebrates West End and Broadway shows with a range of song-and-dance routines. There will be toe-tapping numbers from such shows as High School Musical, Chicago, Little Shop Of Horrors, Guys And Dolls, Rent and We Will Rock You.

“This is an exciting opportunity for any young person aged between six and 18 to appear at such a vibrant theatre”, says director Giles Atkinson.

“We teach them one hour of dance, drama and singing every Saturday morning during school term time. This usually culminates in a performance in the summer and autumn terms. Everyone aged six and above who joins Theatretrain is a part of every show we do”.
